Holly Friedman Glick, RYT 500 is a certified yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance. She completed her 300 hour teacher training with Natasha Rizopoulos and the senior faculty at Down Under Yoga in Brookline. She studied with Sherry Sidoti of Fly Yoga School on Martha’s Vineyard for her 200 hour training. Yoga integrates Holly’s early passion and experience as a modern dancer with her many years as a licensed psychotherapist, bringing together and into balance, body, mind and spirit. She guides students to use their experience on the mat to inform and positively impact their lives off the mat – encouraging both self-awareness and self-acceptance. Holly has led Shira Yoga workshops at Shir Tikva in Wayland, MA and Temple Shalom in Newton, MA. Contact.

 

Eva Heinstein is Co-Director of Piyut North America and a long-time yoga practitioner. She holds an M.A. in Ethnomusicology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and specializes in Jewish musical traditions from North Africa and the Middle East. Eva has led Piyut programs in diverse settings, ranging from Shira Yoga workshops in yoga studios, universities and synagogues, to creative prayer services and camp residencies. Contact.

 

Julie Newman is a singer-songwriter, cantorial soloist, and Jewish worship leader. Currently a full-time cantorial student in the School of Jewish Music at Hebrew College in Boston, Julie is an alumna of the Yoga and Jewish Spirituality Teacher Training program. Julie has lead Shira Yoga workshops at Down Under Yoga in Brookline and Newton and led other Jewish-inspired yoga classes at Hebrew College and beyond. Julie is based in Pittsburgh, PA and is available to lead programs locally and in Boston where she studies. Contact.

Cantor Hollis Schachner has served Temple Shir Tikva in Wayland since 2001. Her musical background spans many styles, including musical theater, jazz and classical vocal performance. She holds a Bachelor’s of Music and Judaic Studies from the University of Miami and received cantorial ordination from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Passionate about the intersection of music, mindfulness and embodied practice, Hollis launched Ruchi G’viati/My Soul, My Body, an interdisciplinary series of workshops based on music, contemplative meditation, Torah study, psychological thought, and gentle Yoga, co-facilitated with. Randy Kamen, ED.D., and Holly Friedman Glick, LICSW, RYT.  Building on the success of Ruchi G’viati/My Soul, My Body, Hollis collaborated with Piyut North America to design and lead a 6-part Shira Yoga series with Holly Friedman Glick.
